St Patrick's Day Parade

On Sunday March 11, 2012 Irish eyes were smiling at the 39th Annual West Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Under clear blue skies, thousands of people lined Kearny Avenue to enjoy the parade. This year Grand Marshall Lawrence Bennett and Deputy Marshall Michael O’Donnell led the march through Harrison, East Newark and Kearny.

The United Irish Association of West Hudson sponsors the annual event. This year’s parade featured over 50 groups and over 1,000 marchers participating. The line of march included local High School and Junior School Marching Bands, Pipe Bands, Irish dancers and even performing cyclists.
It was a great day to be Irish!
