Water Meter Reading, Billing, Collection and Customer Service
The Town of Kearny has contracted with United Water Company to handle the meter reading, billing, collection and customer service concerns for the town of Kearny. Please call United Water at 1(800) 242-5695 with any reading and billing related issues.
Water Meter Replacement Project
In 2010 the Town of Kearny contracted with National Metering Services to replace the town's water metering system and upgrade the reading system to automatic radio frequency transmission. To date over 90% of the system has been completed.

Water Rate Increase
A Water rate increase is effective as of 04/05/2011 and will reflect the following:
- For a 5/8 inch or a 3/4 inch size water meter, there will be a minimum charge of $18.00 for use up to 1,000 Cubic Feet (CF) of water. This is equal to a rate of $1.80 per 100 CF. ( Consumption units are in 100 Cubic Feet, 100 Cubic Feet = 748 gallons)
- A water rate of $2.12 per 100 CF shall apply for water use from 1,001 CF to 18,000 CF
- A water rate of $2.50 per 100 CF shall apply for water use from 18,001 to 75,000 CF
- A water rate of $2.90 per 100 CF shall apply for water used in excess of 75,000 CF
- Customers having a water meter larger than 3/4 inch shall be charged $2.12 per 100 CF for the first CF of water consumption
