Kearny Commemorates Veteran’s Day


On Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 11 a.m., American Legion Post 99 held the community’s annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park located at Kearny Avenue and Beech Street.  The Kearny Police Honor Guard and members of the American Legion, VFW and Marine Corps stood at attention at the monuments. The program included words from American Legion Commander Keith McMillan and Mayor Alberto G.

Pathways To Independence Holds Annual Walk-A-Thon


On Saturday, October 3, 2015, Pathways to Independence, Inc. held their Annual Walk-A-Thon at West Hudson Park.  Community leaders, including Mayor Alberto G. Santos and Members of the Kearny Town Council, Carol Jean Doyle, Susan McCurrie and Marytrine De Castro took part in the Annual Walk-A-Thon with residents, Pathway to Independence consumers and their family and friends to raise funds for the organization.

Peruvian Civic Association Sponsors West Hudson Peruvian Independence Day Parade


On Sunday, July 19, 2015, the Peruvian Civic Association of New Jersey (PCANJ) celebrated Peruvian Independence with a parade through Harrison and Kearny.  The parade featured dancers dressed in beautiful native costumes, bands, floats and marchers from many area Peruvian organizations.  Kearny Mayor Alberto G.

National Night Out


Kearny, NJ – National Night Out Against Crime, sponsored by the Kearny Community Policing Unit, was held on Tuesday, August 4th on Belgrove Drive and Veteran’s Field. Hundreds of town residents turned out for the annual event.
