The Town of Kearny has taken back the water department on March 1, 2001. The transition has not be a simple one. We will need your patience, cooperation and support during the transition period.

There are three aspects to the operation:

• Water distribution : Field Maintenance of the System. The Town of Kearny will maintain water mains, fire hydrants, pump stations, and meters. A team of experienced employees has been assembled and will be working very hard to bring the system back to acceptable standards demanded by Kearny residents. • Meter Reading, Billing, Collection and Customer Service. This aspect of the department will be primarily handled by United Water . United Water will provide you with information on how they will be serving Kearny residents and the telephone contact numbers you will need for concerns related to meter reading, billing, collection. • Customer Service at Town Hall: Our Tax Collectors office on the ground floor of the Town Hall has assigned two employees to handle the clerical needs and onsite customer questions of our residents. Their job is to handle your complaints, questions, and concerns. Customer satisfaction is our primary objective.

Please be patient during this transition period. We are confident that the end results will meet all your expectations and that Kearny Water Department services will be among the best that any community can receive.
