Mayor and Council Approve Updated Schedules of Municipal Towing Fees and Services

At the March 27, 2012 meeting of the Mayor and Council an ordinance revising the Town Code and updating the allowable charges for municipal police towing was approved. The last time fees for towing and related services were addressed by the Mayor and Council was in 1998.

On Sunday March 11, 2012 Irish eyes were smiling at the 39th Annual West Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Under clear blue skies, thousands of people lined Kearny Avenue to enjoy the parade. This year Grand Marshall Lawrence Bennett and Deputy Marshall Michael O’Donnell led the march through Harrison, East Newark and Kearny.

Town of Kearny Authorizes Changing the Election Date of School Board Members from April to the General Election in November

Mayor Alberto G. Santos and the Town Council unanimously adopted a resolution at their regular meeting held on January 24, 2012 moving the school district’s annual election from April to the General Election date in November. The Kearny Board of Education also adopted a resolution authorizing the change of election date at their meeting held on January 17, 2012.
