DAVIS AVENUE PARKING RESTRICTIONS DUE TO SNOW REMOVAL -- SATURDAY, JANUARY 30
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, there is no parking on the portion of Davis Avenue from Dukes Street to Midland Avenue. Snow removal operations will be done on that portion of Davis Avenue. Parked vehicles will be towed at owner's expense. This restriction has been lifted.
If your street has been plowed, there will be curbside garbage collection by Cali Carting on the regular Monday route on January 25.
For residents whose scheduled garbage day was last Saturday, garbage will not be picked up until your next scheduled date on Wednesday, January 27. Accordingly, do not place or leave garbage on the curbside until Tuesday evening.
Town Hall will be open for business on Monday. Some Departments may have limited staffing and curtailed hours.
The Town of Kearny is still under a State of Emergency; however, the travel ban previously issued will be lifted at 12:00 Noon on January 24, 2016. Residents are urged to keep their vehicular travel to a minimum and to avoid travel on any roads that have not yet been plowed. DPW is working to clear all the streets at this time.
Due to the blizzard and storm conditions which presently exist in the Town of Kearny, vehicular traffic is prohibited on all roadways except in the case of bona fide emergencies or for public safety, essential government, healthcare or public utility employees.

Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County is accepting applications for home ownership in its three condominium building located at 41 Kearny Avenue, Kearny.
Habitat for Humanity builds simple, decent and safe for low income families. The building at 41 Kearny Avenue will include one 2-bedroom unit that is ADA compliant and two 3-bedroom units that will occupy the second and third stories. The new homes will be available for families to move in by the end of the summer 2015.
On Saturday, December 12, 2015, after making his list and checking it twice, Santa made an early visit to town. After being escorted along Kearny Avenue, Midland Avenue, and Davis Avenue by our Kearny Police and Fire Departments, Santa then made his way on stage at the Kearny High School Auditorium to meet and greet more than 300 children with candy canes, coloring books, crayons and a gift bag.
